With spring around the corner, join us for an engaging and informative pruning workshop at the Northbank Community Garden. 

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this workshop is designed to help you get to grips with pruning techniques. Led by experienced pruner John Hodgkinson, you’ll learn essential techniques for maintaining the health of your fruit trees.

Learn the fundamental principles including when, why and how to prune and what tools and strategies to use. Walk around the garden and compare the different methods for citrus, stone fruit, mulberries and figs. After the main workshop session you're invited to stay on and put your newfound skills to work - bring along your trusty secateurs and practice with John's oversight!

Morning tea provided. BYO lunch.

About John:

John is a longtime gardener who has dabbled in most aspects of horticulture, including his policulture, Hodge Podge Farm, at Dorrigo in the 90s based on permaculture and biodynamic principles. Since moving to Bellingen in 2005 he has worked with Biodynamic Agriculture Australia in various roles, including preparations maker, national workshop presenter, and editor of BAA’s quarterly journal News Leaf. He is dedicated to the aesthetics and utility of plants, including fruit trees, where proper care, including pruning, are integral to their beauty and bountiful production.
